Your event photos, found and sent to you.

At events that use Spotted, you send one selfie on WhatsApp. When the photographer's pictures are uploaded, Spotted finds every photo you're in and sends you a private gallery link. No app, no account, no scrolling through hundreds of photos.

How it works for guests

Scan and say hi

Scan the Spotted QR code at the event. WhatsApp opens with a message like Hi KITCHEN3 ready to send.
Agree and send a selfie

Reply YES to agree to facial recognition, then send a selfie. Glasses are fine. One or two more at slight angles improve your matches.
Get your photos

Once photos are uploaded, reply PHOTOS to get your private gallery, where you can view and download every photo you're in.

For event hosts

Guests get their own photos

Each guest sees only the photos they appear in, instead of a shared folder of hundreds.

One QR code per event

Every event has its own code, guest list and gallery colour, so one Spotted number serves all your events.

A person checks the close calls

Uncertain matches go to a review queue instead of being sent, and guests can remove any photo that isn't them.

Built around consent

Guests opt in on WhatsApp before any face is processed, and their face data is deleted after the event.

Spotted Events processes face data, which is special personal information under South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). This is how we handle it.

What we collect: Your WhatsApp number and profile name, the selfies you send, and a face fingerprint (a set of numbers) made from each selfie. We also process faces in the event photos so we can match them to registered guests.
Why: Only to find the photos you appear in at that event and send them to you. We do not use your data for advertising and do not sell it.
Consent: Nothing is processed until you reply YES. Consent is asked separately for each event, and you can withdraw it at any time.
People who don't sign up: Faces of people who haven't registered are never linked to a name or number, and are deleted with the rest of the event's face data.
Where it's processed: Face matching runs on Spotted's own systems, not on a third-party face recognition service. Messages pass through WhatsApp, which is operated by Meta.
How long we keep it: Selfies and face data are deleted within the retention period set for each event, normally 30 days after it.
Your choices: Reply DELETE to the Spotted WhatsApp number at any time to delete your selfies, face data and photo matches immediately. In your gallery, tap "Not me" to remove any photo that isn't you.
Your gallery link: Each gallery has a private, unguessable link and isn't listed by search engines. Anyone you share the link with can see your photos.
